These are perfect boards to get yourself started in paddle surfing. They are very versatile because we can use them surfing all sorts of water and disciplines. The main characteristic of these boards is a rounded shape, a flat bottom and a slightly raised rocker. This will help you surfing the waves and will prevent you to collapse with the wave when the wave goes down. The shape of the fins for this type of board are extremely important because it will help us stay on course.
These boards are used for rides, it is the fusion of an All-Round board and a
Race Board. Its design is characterized by a very pointed tip to gain speed while on the move. This board is narrower than the All-round, making them less stable. However, these boards are intended to be used in long distance surfing and their central fin configuration will help to better stabilize the course.
Racing boards are narrower and longer in order make the most of the paddling. They are thought to be able to reduce their friction in the water while increasing acceleration. Their shape is narrower than a traditional board, making them less stable but faster in the water achieving a greater glide with less paddling. Their keel makes them sailing in a straight line, in fact, the larger their keel is, the more stable their board would be. However, you can lose speed if these are too big, so the fins are usually shorter and rounded at the tip to achieve less friction while in the water.
Boards designed for river descents or to use in situations with a lot of movement. In general, they are usually inflatable, to resist possible knocks with rocks, branch scratches, etc. These boards are quite wide and some of them have gripping accessories for greater safety. Their keel is usually larger and longer in order to improve stability and to be able to manage their direction.
These are boards designed for extreme surfing. They are suitable for big and strong waves. They are rigid boards and they offer a great command for surfers with a great deal of experience. Being an experienced surfer is required in order to surf such waves since they are able to achieve more speed when they decrease their buoyancy. The configuration of the keels can vary from using three of them or using a central one.
These boards are more aerodynamic and hydrodynamic. They are designed to be able to achieve greater speed and maneuverability. They are more difficult to use in comparison to other boards, thus you need to have some experience while using them. Since these boards are more unstable, you need to be able to master them having more control and balance over the board. But without a doubt they are ideal for surfing the waves and enjoying each wave.

Inflatable boards are easier to use and they are ideal for starting paddle surfing. The fact that they are inflatable does not mean that they are fragile and will break. This boards are made of resistant materials to withstand any blow. Their easy way to storage and transporting them around makes these boards very practical since you can just deflate them and store them in a backpack. There are many different models for different surfing modalities such as crossings, paddle yoga, whitewater descents and races.
